On February 16, 1993, Kyle Gorka and Curt Smith were issued U.S. Patent No. 5,186,196 on a Beverage Shader:

On February 15, 1955, U.S. Patent No. 2,702,035 issued to John H. Gibbon, Gustav V.A. Malmros, and Edmund A Barber, Jr., on an Oxygenating Unit for Extracorporeal Circulation Devices (the heart/lung machine).

On February 14, 1871, U.S. Patent No. 111,798 issued to Thomas Adams on an Improvement in Chewing-Gum. 

Adams conceived the idea while working as a secretary to former Mexican leader Santa Anna, who chewed a natural gum called chicle.  After failing to turn it to a rubber suitable for tires, he made the chicle into a chewing gum called Chiclets.

On February 13, 1906, Alfred Einhorn was issued U.S. Patent No. 812,544 on Alkamin Esters of Para-Aminobenzoic Acid or Procain. which was marketed under the brand NOVOCAIN.  As Alfred described it:

On February 12, 1884, Louis E. Waterman was issued U.S. Patent No. 293,545 on the Fountain Pen.

On February 11, 1969, A.S. Hermann and Herbert “Zeppo” Marx — yes that “Zeppo” were issued U.S. Patent No.  3,426,727 on a Method and Watch Mechanism for Actuation by a Cardiac Pulse:

Who knew that Zeppo was the smartest of the Marx Brothers?  Or that he invented a Fit Bit, long before anyone else?

On February 10, 1948, Edwin H. Land was issued U.S. Patent No. 2,435,720 on the Polaroid “Land” Camera.

Once the standard for instant photography, it has been supplanted by digital cameras, and more recently cell phone cameras.

On February 9, 1909, Pasquale Nigro was issued U.S. Patent No. 912,152 on a fire escape.

While it would no doubt save you from fire, its ability to protect you from gravity is much less certain.
