These patents were assigned to Mattel, Inc., and were marketed in the 1970’s as WIZZERS:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wizzzer’s first appeared in the 1969 Mattel Catalog and marketed though out the early ’70’s. There were two basic shapes offered in a variety of colors and customizable with stickers. What really made the tops unique was a super-spinning, high-tech bearing and flywheel that allowed the top to spin at very high speed and remain upright for long periods of time. It was also incredibly easy to use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
