Ion Geophysical Corporation<\/a>, [2013-1527, 2014-1121, 2014-1526, 2014-1528](January 11, 2019), the Federal Circuit, on remand from the Supreme Court, remanded to the district court.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Supreme Court held that\nWesternGeco\u2019s damages award for lost profits was a permissible domestic\napplication of 35 U.S.C. \u00a7 284,\u201d reversing the Federal Circuit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But the Supreme Court did\nnot decide other challenges to the lost profits award. In light of the Supreme\nCourt\u2019s decision and the intervening invalidation of four of the five<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">asserted patent claims that\ncould support the lost profits award, the Federal Circuit remanded the case to\nthe district court.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In WesternGeco L.L.C., v.
